Gender Nouns
Some nouns are masculine (male) and some are feminine (female). Many have completely different words.
| Masculine | Feminine |
|---|---|
| man | woman |
| boy | girl |
| king | queen |
| father | mother |
| uncle | aunt |
| son | daughter |
Some add an ending: actor → actress, host → hostess.
Many gender pairs are different words (man/woman), not just an added ending — learn them as pairs.
Common mistake: Inventing feminine forms ("kingess"). The feminine of king is queen.
