Regular & Irregular Verbs
Regular verbs form the past with -ed. Irregular verbs change their form in the past.
| Regular | Irregular |
|---|---|
| play → played | go → went |
| watch → watched | eat → ate |
| help → helped | see → saw |
| want → wanted | buy → bought |
There's no rule for irregular verbs — memorize the common ones (go/went, eat/ate, come/came, take/took).
Common mistake: Adding -ed to irregular verbs ("goed," "eated"). Correct: went, ate.
