Short Spoken Sentences

In daily life we use short, ready-made sentences. Learn them as whole phrases so you can speak without delay.

SituationWhat to say
AgreeingOkay. / Yes, sure. / That's right.
Not understandingSorry? / Pardon? / Say it again, please.
AskingWhat is this? / How much is it?
ThankingThank you. / Thanks a lot.
ApologisingSorry. / Excuse me.
LeavingSee you later. / Goodbye.

"Can you help me?" — "Yes, sure."

"I didn't hear you." — "Say it again, please."

You don't need long sentences to speak English well. Short, correct sentences are clear and build your confidence.

Common mistake: Staying silent when you don't understand. It's normal and polite to say "Sorry? / Pardon?" and ask again.
