Short Spoken Sentences
In daily life we use short, ready-made sentences. Learn them as whole phrases so you can speak without delay.
| Situation | What to say |
|---|---|
| Agreeing | Okay. / Yes, sure. / That's right. |
| Not understanding | Sorry? / Pardon? / Say it again, please. |
| Asking | What is this? / How much is it? |
| Thanking | Thank you. / Thanks a lot. |
| Apologising | Sorry. / Excuse me. |
| Leaving | See you later. / Goodbye. |
"Can you help me?" — "Yes, sure."
"I didn't hear you." — "Say it again, please."
You don't need long sentences to speak English well. Short, correct sentences are clear and build your confidence.
Common mistake: Staying silent when you don't understand. It's normal and polite to say "Sorry? / Pardon?" and ask again.
