Simple Questions (with "to be")
To ask a question with "to be," move am / is / are to the front of the sentence and add a question mark ( ? ).

| You are happy. | Are you happy? |
| She is a doctor. | Is she a doctor? |
| It is cold. | Is it cold? |
| They are ready. | Are they ready? |
Short answers: - Are you tired? — Yes, I am. / No, I'm not. - Is he here? — Yes, he is. / No, he isn't.
Just move "am/is/are" to the front. Keep the rest of the sentence the same.
Common mistake: Adding "do" with "to be." Say "Are you ready?" not "Do you are ready?"
