Types of Noun
Nouns come in several types.
| Type | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|

| Proper | a special name (capital) | Karachi, Ali |
| Countable | can be counted | two books |
| Uncountable | cannot be counted | water, rice |
| Collective | a group | team, family, class |
| Abstract | an idea/feeling | love, freedom |
Ali (proper) lives in a city (common).
I drink water (uncountable) and eat two apples (countable).
Our team (collective) won.
Proper nouns always start with a capital letter. Uncountable nouns have no plural (no "waters").
Common mistake: Making uncountable nouns plural ("informations," "advices"). Say information, advice (no -s).
