WH Questions in the Past
To ask WH questions about the past, use WH word + did + subject + base verb. (With "be," use was/were.)
What did you do yesterday?
Where did they go?
Why did she cry?
Where were you last night? (with "be")
After did, the main verb stays in its base form: "What did he eat?" not "What did he ate?"
Common mistake: Using the past form after "did": "Where did you went?" → "Where did you go?"
