WH Questions — Whom, Whose, Which
Three more WH words for specific situations.
| Word | Use | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Whom | the object (the person who receives) | Whom did you call? |
| Whose | asks about the owner | Whose book is this? |
| Which | asks about a choice between options | Which colour do you like? |
Whose bag is this? — It's Ali's.
Which one is yours, the red or the blue?
To whom did you give the money?
Whose = owner (answer: "Ali's"). Which = choosing between known options. Whom = formal object of the verb.
Common mistake: Confusing whose (owner) with who's (who is). "Whose pen is this?" not "Who's pen."
✏️ Test Yourself
1. ___ pen is this?
2. ___ do you want, tea or coffee?
3. To ___ did you speak?
4. ___ book is on the table? (owner)
