Numbers (0–100)
Numbers are everywhere — age, money, time, dates, and phone numbers.
| 1–10 | 11–20 | Tens |
|---|---|---|
| one, two, three, four, five | eleven, twelve, thirteen | ten, twenty, thirty |
| six, seven, eight, nine, ten | fourteen … nineteen, twenty | forty, fifty … hundred |
For numbers 21–99, join the tens + ones with a hyphen: - 21 = twenty-one - 45 = forty-five - 99 = ninety-nine
I am twelve years old.
I have twenty rupees.
There are thirty-five students.
Master 1–20 first, then the tens (20, 30, 40 …). After that you can build every number up to 100.
Common mistake: Confusing -teen and -ty: thirteen (13) vs thirty (30); fifteen (15) vs fifty (50). The stress is different — thirTEEN vs THIRty.
