Synonyms
A synonym is a word with a similar meaning to another word. Synonyms make your writing richer and avoid repetition.

It was a big / huge success.
Synonyms are similar, not identical — check that the word fits the exact meaning and tone (big vs enormous differ in degree).
Common mistake: Swapping synonyms that don't fit the context. "A huge idea" sounds odd; say "a great/brilliant idea."
